Example
Before
A sentence broken across two lines. A new paragraph.
After
A sentence broken across two lines. A new paragraph.
What to check
- Removing every break can flatten lists and tables.
- Paragraph repair relies on blank lines between paragraphs.
How this cleaner works
Line breaks are newline characters inserted when someone presses Enter or when a document exporter hard-wraps text. TextClean can replace each run of line breaks with one space, remove them without a separator, or leave them untouched. The input stays visible so you can compare the result before copying it.
Replacing breaks with spaces is usually the right choice for prose copied from email or a narrow text column. Removing breaks completely is intended for fragments such as wrapped identifiers, not ordinary sentences. If the source came from a PDF and real paragraphs matter, use PDF paragraph repair instead of flattening every break.
Useful for
- Prose copied from email with hard returns
- Text wrapped to a narrow column
- Lists that need a custom one-line version
Common questions
Can it keep paragraphs?
Yes. Use Fix copied PDF text when blank lines identify real paragraph boundaries. The basic line-break option intentionally treats all selected breaks the same way.
Does it upload the text?
No. The transformation runs in the browser tab. Only your option settings are saved locally.
